Choose the right Vent.jpg

The purpose of dryer vent installation is to remove water vapor and debris to a location outside of your home. Without a proper vent, there is a hazard risk when using the dryer. Vents serve a vital role in the drying process. Having a dryer vent installed does not need to be a difficult or stressful process. Our vent cleaning specialists ensure all of our repairs and installations are in compliance with the recommendations or requirements from: Current International Residential Code (IRC), Underwriters Laboratory, Dryer manufacturers, Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), International Mechanical Code (IMC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This includes materials, design, assembly, support and sealing of wall penetrations. We use heavy gauge pipes and elbows. A minimum thickness of 28 Gauge is required by the (IRC). We typically use 26 gauge. Galvanized steel or aluminum can be used. Aluminum is more expensive, but it is not as

strong as steel. Also, it doesn’t rust. Galvanized steel can eventually rust under certain conditions, but is typically fine.  Our dryer vent installations are always built with efficiency in mind. The shortest route possible is always the objective, with the minimal number of turns. The use of 90 degree angles are only used if absolutely necessary. High efficiency elbows, with a large turn radius, greatly improve efficiency and are an option.
